MADI is a digital transmission protocol designed to transmit large numbers of audio channels over long distances. It allows the transmission of up to 64 channels of studio-quality digital audio (at 48 kHz and 24-bit depth). MADI is widely used in professional recording studios, concert systems, and broadcast applications where high channel capacity and reliable transmission are required. Unlike other digital interfaces, MADI offers flexibility and easy interconnection between multiple devices, allowing stable and lossless audio transmission over distances of up to 100 meters using coaxial cable, and even further using optical fiber.
