Phosphorescent gels absorb natural or artificial light and re-emit it in the dark. There are 5 types of gels: they are slightly dyed in order to distinguish the colours more easily in the day, except for green non-dyed phosphorescent gel. They should preferably be applied thickly with a painting knife.

How to use:

  • Surface Preparation
    • Gesso is a primer for surfaces like canvas, wood, and cardboard. It enhances the adhesion of acrylic or oil paints.
    • Artist Acrylics White Gesso has a higher concentration of titanium white for better coverage.
    • Transparent Gesso preserves the original canvas color.
  • Structural Gels and Mortars
    • Sand Texture Gel: Used with a knife for grainy material effects, available in 4 colors.
    • Structure Gel: High-density gel for working in thick layers, extends drying time, and adds texture.
    • Modeling Paste: Creates reliefs and impastos, can be sculpted and painted once dry, retains volume.
    • Crackle Effect Modeling Paste: Applied in two phases for cracked textures.
    • Mortars: Used for material effects, applied with a knife. Types include Micaceous Black, Pumice, Sanded, and Crystal Mortar for metallic or granular effects.
  • Mediums and Gels
    • Bindex: Used for preparing acrylic colors, collages, or creating protective layers. Available in gloss and matte.
    • Gel: Increases transparency, depth, and drying time. Available in gloss, matte, phosphorescent, and iridescent versions.
    • Retarder: Slows the drying of acrylics.
  • Pouring Medium and Silicone Oil
    • Used to fluidify colors for marbling and dripping techniques.
    • Silicone oil creates cells in poured acrylic works. Use a few drops to trigger this effect.
    • After pouring, use a blowtorch to speed up cell formation. Clean off excess oil before varnishing.
  • Varnishes
    • Acrylic varnishes are non-yellowing and available in gloss, matte, and satin. Wait 1-2 weeks after painting to varnish.
    • Solvent-based varnishes offer protection and are removable with alcohol for restoration.
  • Cleaning Aids
    • Brush Cleaner: Keeps brushes supple, dissolves dried acrylic and varnish.
    • Universal Stripper: Strong solvent for cleaning dried oil or acrylic from tools.
